If you are one of many people that knows you have the potential to become a model, then there are a couple things you should know. Since there is so much competition in the modeling industry, you must be as unique as you possibly can. However, in order to break in the business, you almost certainly need to get discovered by an agency.

There are many places to contact in order to get discovered by an agent and one of those places is at the mall. The mall is probably the place many models believe is the best choice, as talent scouts  are always lurking around the mall.

If this is your choice, make sure that when you are at the mall that you don’t wear super extravagant clothing, as agents and agencies like models that are simple. Now that we have that myth out of the way, if an agency doesn’t seem to discover you, then you must discover them. But, how to do it?

Online modeling agencies
Search online all of the prominent modeling agencies around your area. Once you have tracked down all of the companies who are currently looking for new models, don’t hesitate to visit their agency. But, make sure you read all the guide lines on the agents website and contact them EXACTLY as directed. Don’t just show up!

How to get noticed at go sees
Once you have signed with an agency, you must learn how to act during a go see. There are plenty of competition at the interview, and that is why you must stand out among the crowd. If you’re a guy, your attire must be casual, yet sophisticated. If you are a girl, a simple tank top, and shorts or jeans is all you need to wear.

Never wear too much makeup, as casting directors want to find out if a girl still looks attractive without all the makeup. Once you enter the audition, be your natural self, as agencies love to see real and unique personalities shine through.

How to walk like a model

Male models
Before you can start walking like a model, you first must find a model that you want to imulate (copy). Having an inspiration can really help you learn how to walk like a model faster. Make sure to walk masculine, but not too over exaggerating, as casting directors still want male models to walk the runway in a natural way.

Female models
Before you can start walking as a model, you must do the same as the males. Study your role models’ walk and start practicing, but make sure to add your own personnel flare to develop your own unique walk.

You can make your walk whatever you want it to be, and the more unique yours is, the better. Casting directors like models who have a very unique walk, but make sure that you still keep it natural.

Be willing to work
If you want to really learn to become a model, then make sure to implement these tips into your lifestyle. Modeling is really hard work, and if you truly want to be a successful model, you must be very dedicated and patient. There are thousands of people who are hopefuls around the entire world, each paying their dues, and that is why you must be very patient until it is your time to shine.
